Description
The scent of bergamot can be described as sweet, floral and bright. Its primary chemical constituents include limonene, linalyl acetate, linalool, γ-terpinene and β-pinene. It is sourced from the Citrus bergamia tree which is hybrid of a lemon and bitter orange grown in climates with hot dry summers and wet winters. Bergamot essential oils were first extracted in the 1700s and used as a perfume or food flavoring.
